Building, Underpining and Reinforcement โ€“ TAMA 38
TAMA 38 is the Israeli National Outline Plan referring to the reinforcement of buildings against earthquakes. The plan provides project developers with an incentive to reinforce buildings by granting building rights for the roof of the building undergoing refurbishment.
By itself, adding additional apartments to the roof requires the reinforcement of the buildingโ€™s frame and very often, will also require the addition of parking spaces for residents. It is extremely difficult to find a reasonable parking solution for residents in close proximity to their building and usually, underground reinforcing work is required adjacent to or beneath the building. Execution of that work in such conditions is much more difficult than the construction of supports on open ground and requires creative solutions. Lipsker & Co. specializes in providing such solutions and the optimal utilization of the available land using unique technologies developed by the Company, which reduce reinforcement width to the minimum. In turn, that will maximize the area available for parking. No other company has completed anything like as many building underpining and reinforcement projects in Israel.

Lipsker & Co. operates the most advanced equipment in the field and works in all possible conditions. Equipment includes miniaturized machinery adapted specially for work in limited spaces and in the full range of soil conditions (such as sandy soil and beneath water tables). We can also provide solutions for the underpining and reinforcement of buildings in full compliance with the needs of the site. These capabilities constitute an obvious advantage when executing projects in a densely packed, urban environment.

The Company also executes mini-piles (small diameter piles) within or adjacent to existing buildings. The Company owns a very wide range of equipment for the execution of this work and it includes: Portable drilling equipment, tracked machinery and diesel, pneumatically and hydraulically powered equipment with the ability to drill up to a diameter of 500mm under low ceilings with a height of 2.5 meters. Our drilling equipment is narrow enough to pass through doorways and does not require widening of existing openings. The equipment can drill vertically or at any other required angle and in any given situation.
Lipskerโ€™s specialist capabilities include small diameter building foundations, underpining and reinforcements, which ensure that the project developer does not waste valuable space due to constraints imposed by the contractorโ€™s limited equipment. The enormous range of equipment at our disposal and the unique techniques and working practices developed by the Company, provide us with a distinct advantage when installing mini-piles with varying diameters, according to the specific execution requirements at sites with limited access. The Companyโ€™s equipment is environmentally friendly, does not emit exhaust fumes, does not create noise pollution and is low vibration. Therefore, it is the ideal equipment for work in enclosed spaces and in occupied buildings. The Company places at your disposal, its vast experience in the execution of underpining / reinforcements adjacent to or beneath existing buildings. Our engineers will visit the site and then formulate the optimal, most cost effective solution for the engineering challenges that must be found for the site.
